Since the makers of WinMX, Frontcode, shut down their servers in October 2005, it has been necessary to use a patch or make manual modifcations in order to connect to the WinMX Network. MXPie Patch Automatic Installer will modify your hosts file by adding entries to it for alternate WinMX servers. For those who wish to make the modifications themselves a manual method is also available. Once these new entries have been made to your hosts file you will be able to connect to the network and use WinMX as normal.
