The following steps show how to set up WinMX when you are unable to configure your router. This is known as Firewalled Mode.

1. Set WinMX into “Firewalled” Mode

     All versions of WinMX -
       1. Open WinMX
       2. Click the Settings button
       3. Click the plus sign in front of Internet Connection.
       4. You should now see a new list drop down under Internet Connection.
       5. In this new list select “Unable to accept incoming TCP Connections”.
       6. Click the In/Out UDP Packets
       7. Select “Unable to send or receive UDP datagrams on any port”.
       8. Close WinMX.
       8. Restart WinMX and connect in Secondary Mode.

2. If you have not done so already, configure your firewall.
