To Disable the DNS Client follow these steps:
1. Open the Services Editor:
a. Click Start
b. Click Run
c. Type services.msc
d. Click OK
2. Now that the Services Editor is open, search for DNS Client in the list.
3. Right click on DNS Client and choose Properties.
4. First click on the Stop button to stop the DNS Client running.
5. Then in the drop down box, change the startup type to Manual or Disabled.
6. Click Apply
